This course is a stepping stone and is designed for those who are seeking entry into the workforce, or want to obtain skills to change employment.
You will learn how to undertake manual laboring tasks on a construction site. This also includes learning safe work practices, and equipment and tool use.
Successful completion of this course will enable you to enter into the workforce with the skills acquired to work safely to industry standards. This course can lead to further study as an apprenticeship.
Assessments are completed in order to measure your skills and knowledge against the training qualification requirements, as well as the qualification requirements of the industry. The assessment process itself includes written and practical presentations, observations, and classroom participation. The process will require time away from the training rooms completing assignments and self-paced exercises, as well as the development of a workplace portfolio of evidence.
This qualification will allow you to seek entry-level employment as a builder’s labourer or construction assistant.
